Workout Songs - GIRL POWER - part three

GIRL POWER - part three

Back to more great workout songs! I will post some of my favorite warm-up/cool down songs later on, but I think you should find some songs that are really special for you to use. That way you can have something to look forward to! I would also like to suggest that you use different songs for warm-ups and cool downs than your actual workout. It is easier to transition and get you conditioned to which songs are for each part of the workout.

“Overdrive” - Katy Rose

You’ll recognize this “I’m independent” song from that little movie Mean Girls. Use this for a slow, steady pace.

“Gone” - Kelly Clarkson

Give up on that loser guy! Find someone else who is worthy of you. This song correlates perfectly with a fast run.

“Walk away” - Kelly Clarkson

Similar concept . . . but you can never have too many songs about telling a loser guy to get lost.

“Closer to myself” - Kendall Payne

A song about self-discovery and realizing that being yourself is always going to be good enough. Ideal song for the tough parts of a workout.

“Just a girl” - No Doubt

As one of the best girl power anthems ever, it always works for me if I need some workout encouragement.  Women will always be partially viewed as helpless, but luckily the discrimination provides great workout fuel.

“U and Ur Hand” - Pink

For any girl that has been at a club where a guy just starts grabbing at you, like you’re his property.  I fanaticize about teaching them a lesson while I burn those calories.

“Stupid Girls” - Pink

For me, working out is about staying in shape and burning off all the food I love to eat. I don’t starve myself and I don’t throw up. For those who do, please listen to this song and be smart.

Now that’s what I call workout songs! I look for new workout songs every few months, because I can’t stand to workout to the same ones over and over again. Luckily, if I don’t listen to them for awhile, they become brand new when I go back to them :)
