Workout Songs - GIRL POWER - part one

GIRL POWER - part one

The cliche is true: Girls just wanna have fun.  Sometimes a girl just needs some workout songs that really boost her confidence.  It doesn’t matter if you’re 13 or 50, being a girl has its drawbacks and benefits.  You need some workout songs that will push you the extra mile.   So here you go Ladies, enjoy!

P.S. Boys you can use these great energy boosters, too.  We won’t tell anyone :)

“Just a little Girl” - Amy Studt
Ever felt like people just treated you like a little girl that can’t handle anything? Listen to this while you imagine proving them wrong!

“Think” - Aretha Franklin

Sometimes a girl has just got to stand up for herself and tell someone they better think!  You can never go wrong with Aretha when it comes to women empowerment!

“Sisters are Doing it for themselves” - Aretha Franklin

. . . well of course more Aretha!  This was featured in the film First Wives Club and always stuck with me.  That movie really stood out as one of the few movies that taught me about independence as a woman.  If I wanted to make it, I had to do it myself.

“Mobile” - Avril Lavigne

Ever feel like everything is changing and there is nothing you can do about it? Avril and some sweat can help!

“Freak out” - Avril Lavigne

When you don’t want to compromise yourself and need no excuses for your choices, check this song out.

“Nobody’s Fool” - Avril Lavigne

People giving you that condescending tone like you’re an idiot? More standing your ground and being who you are . . . Blow off some steam.

“Rebel Girl” - Bikini Kill

You can’t really do a girlpower playlist and not include Bikini Kill.  I always love this song when I am feeling proud that I don’t go by the norm as a pretty little nice girl.

“Top of the World” - Brandy

This was the beginning of pop divas saying ” my life isn’t easy.” This song has a great running rhythm and perfect for those days when nobody understands that your life may seem great but everybody has problems.

Stay tuned for some more great girlpower workout songs!
