WORKOUT MUSIC - MOVIES - part four
WORKOUT MUSIC - MOVIES - part four
Back to the girls . . . these are geared more for movies considered “chick-flicks.” Guys, you are welcome to read on and feign interest even though you know you’ve sang one of these songs in the shower.
“Live your dreams” - Athena Cage, Save the Last Dance
We all wish we could dance like Julia Stile’s character. Alas, we will just have to settle for boosting our workout music.
“Supergirl” - Athena, The Princess Diaries
Back when Anne Hatheway was innocent, this song emphasized the idea that every girl needs to be saved every once and awhile. Play this when you feel in over your head and all you can control is your workout.
“Ready to Run” - Dixie Chicks, Runaway Bride
I am a commitaphobe. I love using this song to exercise my fears when people in my life start talking about marriage, kids, etc.
“Closer to Free” - The Bodeans, Party of Five
I wasn’t that big of a fan of the show, but I liked this theme. It’s so uplifting and inspirational. I put it in my workout music sporadically because I only want to hear it every now and then.
“American Girl” - Cindy Alexander, Sugar and Spice
I’m not a fan of the Tom Petty version, because it seems like it should be sung by a woman. I love this listening to this when life didn’t work out like I planned and I’m okay with it.
“Let Go” - Frou Frou, Garden State
As one of the many awesome songs on the soundtrack, it is best used for a running playlist. Helpful in those times where acting a little crazy makes you feel a whole lot better.
“Holding out for a Hero” - Frou Frou, Shrek 2
I’m not a big fan of the original 80’s version, but something about this one gets me moving. Great when you haven’t found that special someone but are hopeful they are out there.
“Fable” - Robert Miles, Ever After
This was featured in the trailer for this enchanting story about Cinderella. I absolutely fall in love with it every time. I use it when I need to believe I will find my soul mate.
Even though I’m finished with movie lovers workout music, I still have some more songs for the starry-eyed exercisers. Keep your hearts beating for my “in love” playlist
