The inspiration playlist will be the most beneficial in your library because you’ll need it when you really don’t feel like working out. I know whenever I first began working out habitually I needed the encouragement to push myself. You also must have this in those times when you’re too tired, too hungry, too upset, etc. Use this fitness music to get something good from your melancholy.
“Soak up the Sun” - Sheryl Crowe
I love playing this at the first sign of warmth after a cold and ugly winter. It makes me happy thinking of the days when I’ll get to enjoy the nice weather, especially swimming. I play this song to get my body into great shape for swimsuit season.
“Keep holding on” - Avril Lavigne
A slower song for those steady workouts . . . this will be great for those moments where you really feel life can never get better. Let yourself decompress and then hit the gym. Exercising is an automatic adrenaline booster and I guarantee it will make you feel better.
“Breakaway” - Kelly Clarkson
This song would have perfect for my theme in high school. I lived in a small town and desperately needed to escape, and I couldn’t wait to go to college. I loved all my friends and family, but it just wasn’t enough. This song could fit in any situation where you learned all you can and need to move on to grow as a person.
“Suddenly I See” - KT Tunstall
Ideal fitness music song played during a nice jog. Best used when you’re on a path of self-discovery and want an epiphany for what your purpose in life will be.
“One Way Ticket” - LeAnn Rimes
Play this country tune when you want to relocate to another place and need to keep yourself motivated until you can be there.
“Breathe” - Michelle Branch
When you can’t seem to get hold on your life and it seems to just spin out of control, just inhale and exhale. Until it all slows down, play this with a steady run.
“Unwritten” - Natasha Bedingfield
I love listening to this when I’m extremely hopeful for the future and I love that it isn’t all planned out. Great tune for a fast sprint or heart-pumping workout.
